Marcel A. Jalbert, 81, of Vernon, VT passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lewiston, ME on June 16, 1934; the son of the late George and Roseanna (Morin) Jalbert.
Marcel was a long time Vernon resident. He was employed as a pipe fitter for Local 777, until his retirement. He served his country with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus - 4th degree, the Marine Corp League 798, and the American Legion Post 5. Marcel was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brattleboro. He was very active in the church community and would often make rosary beads for church functions.
He is predeceased by his wife, Helen Jalbert in 2014; two brothers, Ernest and Rosaire Jalbert and a sister, Theresa Plante.
He is survived by four sons, Marcel E. Jalbert and his wife Lynn of CT, Robert D. Jalbert, Kenneth Jalbert of CT, And Philip Jalbert of CA; two daughters, Theresa Soden and her husband Jim of CT and Jennifer Covey of Dummerston, VT; twelve grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
