Marcel Danny Lord, 75, of Goffstown, NH, died April 4, 2006, at a local hospital after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. Mr. Lord was born on July 27, 1930, in Manchester, the son of the late Arsene and Aurore (Pelletier) Lord. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean and Vietnam War, totaling 24 years in the armed forces. During his military career Mr. Lord was awarded many medals and citations including the Bronze Service Star, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Japan Occupation Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal. Mr. Lord was very proud of his military career and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Following Mr. Lords retirement from the Air Force, he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from St. Anslem College and a Master Degree from Notre Dame College and pursued a career in sociology until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Lord was a talented pianist, an award winning artist and loved to write. He often donated his time teaching art and music to local children. Members of his family include; his former wife and friend, Priscilla, of Hooksett, 1 son Frank Lord and his wife Doreen, of Allenstown; 4 daughters, Stephanie Alvarez and her husband Jeffrey, of Manchester; Cathy Overson and her husband Mic, of Weare, NH; Jennifer Lord, of Bedford; Victoria Vickie Masry, of Manchester; 7 grandchildren, 1 brother, Francis Lord, of Derry; 1 sister, Lorraine Binnette, of Manchester; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were private. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to The Animal Rescue League of NH at 545 Rte 101, Bedford, NH 03110, or to Catholic Medical Center, Unit C100, in memory of Mr. Lord. Arrangements were under the direction of the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium.
