MARCEL C. PATIENT, SR. MANCHESTER – Marcel C. Patient, Sr., 82, died Friday, August 14, 2009, after a long illness, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, in Goffstown. Mr. Patient was born on November 17, 1926, in St. Elie Dorford, Quebec, the son of the late Leon and Lorantine (Lestage) Patient. Mr. Patient was a resident of Manchester for the past 49 years. Mr. Patient was a well known business man and self-employed drywall contractor, in the New England region. Marcel enjoyed restoring and working on antique cars. Mr. Patient also liked singing, dancing and watching wrestling. Members of his family include; his wife of 49 years, Simone (Roy) Patient, of Manchester; 2 sons, Marcel C. Patient, Jr., of Manchester; Steve P. Patient, also of Manchester; 2 daughters, Alice Patient, of Sherbrooke, Quebec; Dorothy Ouimette, of Coaticook, Quebec; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; a stepson, Germain Levesque, of Montreal, Quebec; a step daughter, Lorraine Horne, of Nashua; 2 sisters, Georgette Hackett, of Lyndonville, Vermont; Martha Filion, of Manchester; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Patient was predeceased by his son, Roger Patient, who died in 1955. He was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters. SERVICES: Calling hours will be Monday, August 17, from 6 – 9 P.M., at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 18, 10 A.M. at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont Street, in Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, in Manchester. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to Alzheimer's Association, 1 Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, NH 03110, in memory of Mr. Patient.
