Margaret F. (Flynn) Cresta, 90, of Candia, NH, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Community Hospice House. Born in Lynn, MA on February 23, 1934, she was a daughter of the late James P. Flynn and Mary Jane (Gilbane) Flynn. She shared 57 years of marriage with her late husband, John F. Cresta.
Margaret was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, MA and later attended business school. She and her husband, John, moved with their six children from Somerville, MA to Candia, NH in 1966. She was employed by Genest Ford and later worked in quality control at Sylvania, retiring in 2003 after 23 years of employment. Margaret enjoyed her pets and loved horseback riding. Her hobbies included reading, gardening and traveling. She was a devout Catholic who found great comfort in her faith. Margaret was a kindhearted person who could always be found helping out anyone in need. Above all else, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with family and friends.
Margaret is survived by three sons, Anthony Cresta and his wife Andrea of Palm Harbor, FL, James Cresta of Candia, NH, Kevin Cresta and his wife Wendy of Greenville, SC; three daughters, Cheryl Cresta of West Haven, CT, Denise Cresta of Candia, NH, and Maryann Ebert and her husband Arthur of Candia, NH; her sister, Julie Griffin of West Dennis, MA; her sister-in-law, Maryjane Flynn of King George, VA; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, including her forever friend, Norma York, of Palm Beach, FL. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by her sisters, Genevieve and Mary Flynn, and her brothers, James, John, Thomas and George Flynn.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 15th at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 207 Hemlock Street, Manchester, NH. She will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
