MARGARET L. (WOODS) JOHNSON

LITTLETON, NH - Margaret "Loretta" Johnson, 86 of Littleton, NH passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Concord Hospice House.

Loretta was born in Littleton on April 17, 1931. She was the daughter of Alonzo and Mary Woods and was a lifelong resident of Littleton. She attended St. Rose of Lima grade school and graduated with the class of 1948 from Littleton High School. Loretta was also a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

After graduating high school, she began her career as a telephone supervisor. She worked at New England Telephone and Telegraph/AT&T for 31 years. Loretta also worked several years as a switchboard operator at Littleton Regional Hospital.

On November 5, 1994 she married Leonard "Bill" Johnson of Groveton NH and they have resided at her Pine St. home for the past 23 years. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, summer trips to the beach and family gatherings were very important to her.

Loretta was predeceased by her brother, Michael Woods. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Leonard Johnson; Leonard's children; Dave Johnson and his wife Karen of Milton, NH, Laurie Crawford and Doreen Smith of Lancaster, NH, Loretta's sister Mary H. Stefekos and husband Christos of Littleton, NH, her nephew, Lonnie Stefekos and wife Ruthanne of Bedford, NH, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

SERVICES – Calling hours will be held on Monday evening, May 22nd from 5:30 to 7 PM at the Pillsbury Phaneuf Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at 9:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Rev. Mark E. Dollard as Celebrant. A private burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery.
