Margaret Paddock

Margaret Peggy (Nolan) Paddock, 67, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Grafton County Nursing Home after a long illness. She was a long-time resident of Littleton and member of the Saint Rose of Lima Parish. She had a deep faith and found great comfort in the Catholic Church. She bravely lived her life for many years as her illness progressed. Her family would like to thank all in the community who helped her, and them, through this long and difficult time.
Peggy was born in Glendale, Queens, New York in 1942, to Daniel Patrick Nolan and Anne Krautter Nolan. She received her degree in education from St. Josephs College in Brooklyn, NY. She also earned two Masters Degrees, in Reading from UNH and in Administration from Plymouth State University. She taught fourth grade in Franconia for two years before accepting an administrative position at the White Mountain Regional School District. She served as principal of the Jefferson and Dalton schools. In 1994, she received the Champion for Children Award from the North Country Education Foundation. In 1996, she received the North Country Education Leadership Award from the North Country Education Foundation and the North Country School Administration Association. After retiring in 2000, she gave to her community by delivering Meals on Wheels and participating in the Littleton Garden Club. She was a Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic Church and a member of the Choir for many years.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert E. Paddock; a son LTC Robert E. Paddock Jr., currently stationed in Tunisia; a daughter Erin Paddock Sweeney of Littleton; three brothers: Patrick Nolan of Palm Beach Florida, Gerard Nolan of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Daniel Nolan of St. Augustine, Florida, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Rose of Lima in Littleton on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM. A luncheon celebrating her life will follow in the Church Hall.
