Margaret C. Spenard, 90, of Manchester, NH died April 6, 2023.
Born in Manchester on December 2, 1932, she is the daughter of Ernest and Jeanne (Laplante) Lefebvre.
She was raised and educated in Manchester and graduated from Saint Marie High School. She married Andre L. Spenard and during their 17 years of marriage they moved to Bridgeport, CT where Margaret worked at St. Vincent Hospital. After Andre’s death in 1970, the family returned to Manchester where Margaret worked as an executive assistant for the Manchester School System for 23 years.
Margaret is predeceased by her beloved husband, Andre L.; son Andre B.; daughter Elizabeth Duval; son-in-law Stephen Jolicoeur; brothers Arthur, and Raymond, and her sister Jeanne (Sister Mary Carmel).
Surviving family members include six children, Jeanne Tibbetts of Lisbon Falls, ME, Dorothy Welsh and her Husband Mike of Manchester, Henry Spenard and his wife Terry of Mansfield, OH, Patricia Jolicoeur of Bedford, Timothy Spenard and his wife Robin of St. Mary’s, GA, and Arthur Spenard and his wife Sallie of Clifton, VA; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; her sister Cecile Carey of Milford, CT; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margaret was blessed with incredible care by the dedicated staff at Hanover Hill Nursing Home for the last five years.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17th from 10-11am at the Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A celebration of life will follow at 11am in the funeral home. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Margaret will be buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Margaret’s memory to Hanover Hill Healthcare Center, 400 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
