Maria L. Cosco, 82, of Chelsea, MA passed away peacefully, “graduating” joyfully, on April 18, 2023. Maria was a devout Catholic, enjoying the reception of the Eucharist often. Her final residence at Katzman Family Life Center in Chelsea, MA, provided an environment that rooted her peace-filled leave due to the meticulous care and love provided by the staff.
In earlier years, Maria attended the Everett and Chelsea school systems graduating from St. Rose High School and eventually fulfilled a higher education platform at Boston College. That college training prepared her for early service to families in New York where she used her teaching skills to tutor students before exploring opportunities as a Marine Biologist. Maria was an avid lover of horses. During her time on Long Island, she participated in Equestrian competitions before returning home to Chelsea, MA where she ultimately became the primary care giver to her mother. Her lifetime training in loving and serving others secured a long life for her mother who reached 94 years of age. Maria is the family’s prayer warrior, and from her seat above, continues to be an advocate for family and those in need with her prayer-filled repertoire.
Maria is survived by her brothers, Vin Cosco and his wife Mary, and Bob John; niece, Anne Bladd and her husband Bill and their children, Zachary, Brittany, Julia, and Sarah; nephew, Vin Cosco and his wife Tara and their children, Michael and David; nephew, Jon Cosco and his wife Elise and their children, Nathanial and Yi Ai; nephew, Jim Cosco and his partner Sonia; nephew, Chris Cosco and his son Joshua; niece, Nicole Buisson and her children, Ben and Henry; and nephew Rob Cosco and his children, Candice and Miriam; cousins: Theresa, Anne, John, Carolyn, Joyce, Faith, Hope, and Stephen; and hundreds of souls, with whom Maria connected, always extending her spirit to leave a sense of love sprinkled upon them. Her family and friends feel blessed to have shared her journey with her in the time she was given, and she will be truly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00am at Ste. Marie Church in Manchester, NH. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Committal Prayers will be offered at the end of the funeral mass as interment will be held privately in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please forward contributions in Maria’s thankfulness to Katzman Family Life Center, 17 Lafayette Ave, Chelsea MA 02150
