Marie C. Gallagher, 79, of Goffstown, died Sunday March 16, 2008 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester following an illness. She was born on June 18, 1928 in Roxbury, MA the daughter of the late John Edward and Mary Emily (Boudreau) Melanson. She was raised in Roxbury and educated in the local schools. She was a resident of Charlestown, MA for many years before moving to New Hampshire 30 years ago. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Sheraton Plaza in Boston, Deaconess Hospital in Boston and at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester for six years before she retired. Mrs. Gallagher enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also liked cooking and crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Gallagher of Goffstown; son, Sean Gallagher of Deering; five daughters, Nanette Dominguez of Jamaica Plain, MA, Michele Scadding of Manchester, Amanda DiNovo of Goffstown, Nichole Gallagher of Melrose, MA and Danielle Loiselle of Candia; 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Melanson of Florida and John Melanson of Illinois; sister, Ann McLaughlin of Pelham and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, corner of Union St, on Wednesday from 4-8PM. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
