Marie Claire Masson

Marie Claire (Janelle) Masson, 79, of 8 Vine Street, Northfield and formerly of Manchester, died July 4, 2002 at her residence following a long illness. She was born in Manchester on December 29, 1922, the daughter of Henry and Clarinda (Guimond) Janelle and had been a resident of the city for most of her life. She was the widow of Lucien Masson who died in 2001. Earlier in her life, she worked with her husband who ran L. Masson Oil Company for many years. She was a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Family members include one daughter, Doris Masson-Baker of Northfield; three sons, Donald Masson of Manchester, Richard Masson of FL and Raymond Masson of Manchester, fifteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren; two sisters, Dora Robichaud and Simonne Morrissette, both of Manchester and several nephews, nieces and cousins. After cremation, family and friends may gather at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Church. Urn burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
