Marie E. Noble

Marie E. (Mathison) Noble, 66, of Jeffersonville, VT passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at her residence in Jeffersonville. She was born in Sacramento, CA on October 24, 1947; the daughter of the late Edward and Cecilia (Simonsen) Mathison.

Marie has been a Jeffersonville resident for 22 years. After graduating from high school she attended Johnson State College, were she earned her master's degree. She was employed at The Family Center in St. Albans, VT as a social worker before her retirement. Marie loved the outdoors and nature. She enjoyed canoeing, biking, hiking, traveling, camping, shopping and spending time walking with her dog Smokey. Marie would be very proud and honored to know that she will be the first certified green burial in the state of Vermont.

She is survived by her loving husband, James D. Noble of Jeffersonville, VT; a son, Wade Noble and his partner Alison McMahon of Stowe, VT; two daughters, Wendy Collins and her husband Thomas also of Stowe and Jamie Noble and her partner Danny Stevens of Santa Cruz, CA; a sister, Diane Wilson of Sacramento, CA and three grandsons, Dylan, Caleb and Finnegan Collins all of Stowe.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home, 57 High Street, Brattleboro, VT. Green Burial will follow at Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery in Brattleboro.
