Marie-Rose (Duperon) Grenier, 91, formerly of 55 South Main Street, died December 21, 2002 at the Elliot Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born in Worcester, MA on October 17, 1911, the daughter of George and Marie-Mae (Vincent) Duperon and had been a lifelong resident of Manchester. She graduated from Ste. Marie School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at J. F. McElwain and BeeBee Shoe Factories. She was a communicant of Ste. Marie Chuch and a member of St. Anne Sodality. "Memere Cookie" enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, bingo and playing cards. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Germain Grenier in 1980 and by a son Paul "Chic" Grenier of California. Family members include her son, Raymond G. Grenier of Manchester; a daughter, Constance Bergeron of Manchester; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11:00 in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
