Marie-Paule (Savoie) Vachon, 93, of Manchester, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Maple Leaf Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Upton, P. Quebec, Canada on Nov. 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Ida (Ruel) Savoie. Raised in Granby, P. Quebec, in 1940 when she married the love of her life, the late Armand Vachon and moved to Barton, VT where they owned and operated a dairy farm. In 1945, Marie relocated to Manchester, and had been employed by Bee Bee Shoe and Prevu Shoe for 29 years before retiring.
Marie was a member of Daughters of Isabella, St. Anthony Circle 1374 of Manchester and the former Ste. Anne Sodality of Ste. Marie and Columbiette Council 5163. She was a communicant and devout Catholic of Ste. Marie Church for 69 years.
A devoted, loving, and dedicated mother, Marie's family was paramount in her life. She lovingly made each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren a quilt to celebrate their birth and be presented to each of them later on at a special occasion in their life. Marie also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, arts and crafts, and ceramics. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida where she spent 23 wonderful winter seasons playing cards and bingo with her many dear friends. Marie cherished the companionship of her family and friends which were the center of her life. She will be best remembered for her warm heart, generosity, and her ability to live her happy and beautiful life to the fullest.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Therese (Vachon) Dimond and husband Denny of Manchester, and Pauline (Vachon) Finocchiaro and husband Ron of New Market; her granddaughter, Lynda (Dimond) Mealey and husband Jim; her grandson, Stephen Dimond Ph.D. and wife Lynn; her great grandchildren, Caitlin (Mealey) Joubert and husband Ted, Stephanie, Christopher, Jessica, and Sarah Mealey, Kylie, Alexis, Audrey, and Brody Dimond; her sister, Yvette (Savoie) LeBlanc; her brother, Roger Savoie; her sisters-in-law, Therese (Levesque) Savoie and Claire Savoie of Canada; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, Armand, she was predeceased by her son, Roger Vachon and six siblings.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Visitation will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave., Manchester, on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 4:00 to 8:00P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be held at Ste. Marie Church, Notre Dame Ave., Manchester, on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 11:00A.M. Followed by Committal Service in Mount Calvary Chapel, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
