Marilyn Jane "Lyn" Buechsenschuetz

October 30, 1934 — April 14, 2025

Bedford, NH

Marilyn Jane “Lyn” Buechsenschuetz, 90, of Bedford, NH, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 14th, 2025. Born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 30th, 1934, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Dorothy Reinhart.

Lyn was a graduate of Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, Missouri, and later of the University of Illinois with a BA in Education. While at the University of Illinois, she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and the Mortar Board Honor Society. She taught second grade in San Diego, where she met and later married Richard “Dick” Buechsenschuetz of Nokomis, Illinois in August of 1960, sharing nearly 65 years together. Dick and Lyn eventually settled in Bedford, NH in 1979 along with their three children. Lyn spent many years in Bedford serving as a substitute teacher in several different schools.

She loved gardening, and was part of the Bedford Garden Club for many years. A member of Manchester Country Club since 1981, she served 3 years as president of the Ladies Golf Association, where she proudly carded a hole in one on #13. Along with her husband Dick, she loved to play bridge and belonged to several area bridge groups over the years. She was a member of the Manchester Choral Society since 1981, performing all throughout New England and in Europe, where her choral group sang as part of the 50th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the world in their later years. Her proudest achievement, however, was raising her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Lyn is survived by her husband, Dick Buechsenschuetz of Bedford, NH; daughter Ms. Anne Buechsenschuetz of Manchester, NH; son Mr. Richard Buechsenschuetz (Gretchen) and their three children (Callan, Adele and Richie) of Newbury Park, CA; son Dr. Karl Buechsenschuetz (Jackie) and their children (Aidan and Grace) of Newbury Park, CA; brothers Carl Reinhart (Carol) of Venice, FL and Doug Reinhart (Pattie) of Irvine, CA. Lyn was predeceased by her sister, Carole Murphy, of Creve Coeur, MO.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 19th at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 673 Weston Road, Manchester, NH. Family will be greeting guests at 10 AM prior to an 11AM Memorial Service. A short reception with refreshments will follow.
