Marilyn Betty Pfabe, 83, of Londonderry, passed away on April 20, 2023. She is the loving wife of Edsel Pfabe with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage.
Marilyn was born in Manchester on December 12, 1939 to Gustave and Betty (Gagnon) Marinier. She is a proud graduate of St. Joseph High School Class of ’57, where she made lifelong friendships with her group of girls that she still adores today. She married the love of her life, Ed, in 1961 and together they lived in Washington DC, Forge Village MA, and North Canton Ohio for 10 years before settling in Londonderry.
Marilyn’s greatest source of pride and joy was her three grandchildren. She attended every school event, Grandparents Day, concert, recital or game that her health allowed for. Marilyn loved her time working at IHS Nursing Home as an Activity’s Coordinator where she happily shared her many talents with the residents. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening and plants of all kinds. She also loved music and was one of the cofounders of the Londonderry Friends of the Band booster club serving from 1979-1986. Marilyn had a gift for remembering song lyrics and was often called by the music director when the words to a song were needed.
Along with her husband Ed, Marilyn is survived by her two children, Kenneth Pfabe of Manchester and Kristin Pfabe of Bedford; her beloved grandchildren, Charlotte Pfabe, William Janelle, and Jack Janelle; her daughter in law, Sally Pfabe; several nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends. She is predeceased by her sister Carol Renner and her parents, Gustave Marinier and Betty Fling.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27th from 10am-11am at The Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A funeral service will follow at 11am in the funeral home. Interment at Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
