Marion M. “Nana” Howe, 62, of Manchester, NH died Friday March 2, 2007 at her home in Manchester. Born on April 30, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late John and Susanna (Reimann) Nowak. She was educated in Brooklyn and graduated from Maxwell High School. She was a resident of Manchester for the past twenty plus years. Previously she had lived in the New York City area. Most recently she worked as the housekeeping supervisor at the Holiday Inn in Manchester. While living New York she had worked as a school crossing guard. She enjoyed puzzles and playing bingo. Mrs. Howe also loved working in her flower garden. Her passion was her family and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Nana to many. She is survived by her two daughters, Susanna Serrano of Manchester and Rose Kuehnle of Destin, Florida; two sons, Edward Rekar of Brooklyn, NY and Thomas Rekar of Derry, NH, 5 sisters, Evelyn of Manchester, Irene of PA , Susanna of Fla., Ella of Ohio and Pauline of Fla. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Rekar who died in 2005 and her second husband George Howe who died in 2001. In Her Life: She is survived by her for grandchildren, Kasandra Santos, Michael Rekar, Elizabeth Lanig and Isaac Serrano. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH on Wednesday from 1-4 PM. Burial will be private.
