Marion Pirog
Marion (Sakalay) Pirog, 88, died Friday, January 25, 2008 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, in Nashua.
She was born in Worcester, MA, on October 21, 1919, the daughter of the late Elias and Mary (Saad) Sakalay. She was a lifelong resident of Merrimack.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Pirog was employed as a seamstress at Brookshire Knitting Mills, in Manchester.
Family members include; 1 son, Ron Pirog, of Holland, OH; 1 daughter, Joyce Horne, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Harry Sakalay, of Moraga, CA; Fred Sakalay, of Poughkeepsie, NY; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Pirog, who died in 1972.
A time of gathering will be Wednesday, January 30, from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. Burial will take place on Thursday, 1:00 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Avenue, in Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, c/o St. Joseph Community Services, 395 D.W. Highway, Merrimack, NH 03054, in memory of Mrs. Pirog.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Manchester, NH.
