Mark D. DuVerger, 67, of Bradford, NH, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with illness. He was surrounded by his loving family, who will forever cherish his memory.
Born on July 5, 1957, in Hartford, CT, to the late Merle F. DuVerger Jr. and Cynthia A. (Porter) Bassett, Mark grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Merrimack Valley High School. He served in the Army for 3 years, and then attended Franklin Pierce College to pursue a degree in business. He built a successful career in construction, working as a skilled carpenter for 25 years. In his later years, he enjoyed doing odd jobs around the community, always ready to lend a helping hand, before retiring.
Mark's greatest passion was his family, and he dedicated his life to them. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 42 years, Brenda, with whom he loved spending time, often taking scenic rides on the backroads of New Hampshire and admiring the state’s beautiful mountains. Mark's faith was an essential part of his life, and he took great joy in preaching the word of God. He also enjoyed playing Scrabble online and treasured every moment spent with his children and grandson.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, his son Christopher B. DuVerger and his wife Jennifer (Martin) DuVerger, their son Maxwell M. DuVerger, all of Vermont, as well as his daughter Mandy Spence of Massachusetts. He will also be dearly missed by his sisters Debra N. Seay Leanard of Ocala, FL, Amy Robertson Parks of Louisville, KY, his brothers Douglas H. DuVerger of Manchester, NH, and Timothy D. DuVerger of Louisville, KY, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his father Merle F. DuVerger Jr, his mother Cynthia A. Bassett of Okala FL, step-father Raymond E. Bassett of Epsom NH, and brother Merle F. DuVerger III of Massachusetts.
Mark’s legacy is one of hard work, love, faith, and a humble spirit that touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held on October 3, 2024 at 12pm at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen NH 03303. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Mark’s memory to a charity of your choice. The Family would like to thank Concord Hospital and Granite VNA Hospice for their care to Mark and his family during this difficult time.
