Marlene A. Desjardins, formerly known as Marlene A. Martin, was born on September 18, 1951, in the picturesque town of Barre, Vermont. She peacefully departed from this world on January 9, 2024, in the comfort of her home in Deltona, Florida. Marlene's life was filled with love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Marlene was blessed to be born into a loving family. She was the cherished daughter of Alice Clogston Martin and Elwin Martin. Growing up, Marlene shared a special bond with her brothers John and Steve Martin. Their sibling connection formed an unbreakable foundation that carried them through all of life's joys and challenges.
Marlene possessed a warm-hearted nature that touched the lives of those around her. Her eloquent presence could light up any room she entered, captivating everyone with her generosity of spirit. Marlene had an innate ability to make others feel seen and heard, always ready to lend a compassionate ear or offer words of wisdom.
Throughout her life, Marlene held many roles with grace and dignity. She was a devoted wife and mother who epitomized unconditional love. Her marriage to the late Mr. Desjardins was an enduring partnership built on trust and mutual respect. They met at the Mountainview Grand Resort and Spa in Whitefield, New Hampshire where they both worked. They eventually moved to Florida where she would finish her degree in Social Work at the University of South Florida. In her later years, Pete and Marlene moved back home to New Hampshire where she continued her selfless work through employment at the Riverbend Mental Health Community business.
As a mother, Marlene showered her children with boundless affection and unwavering support. Her nurturing nature created a haven where her children thrived and flourished under her guidance. Marlene's legacy will forever live on through them as they carry forward the lessons she imparted to them.
In addition to her devotion to family, Marlene was admired by an extensive network of friends who became treasured members of her inner circle. Her genuine interest in others allowed for deep connections to grow effortlessly over time. Whether through heartfelt conversations or shared moments of laughter, Marlene's friendships illuminated the beauty of human connection. Marlene was a fierce supporter of her friends and family and would always be willing to help no matter what was going on in her own life.
Marlene had an innate appreciation for the world around her, finding solace in the serenity of nature. She found great joy in exploring the beauty of Vermont's landscapes during her formative years.
