Marlene L. Hall

Marlene L. (Bauerle) Hall, 69, of Canterbury, died October 24, 2010 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

She was born in New York City, NY on June 24, 1941, the daughter of Karl and Barbara (Okler) Bauerle. She was a graduate of Clark Summit Abington High School, Class of 1959 and attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. She had worked for Alan Wood Steel Company and also Alco Standard Corp in PA. In 1985, she moved to NH to become a farmer. Marlene and her late husband Earl grew organic vegetables and fruits. She was President and market master of the Laconia Farmers Market for twenty years. She also helped start the Manchester Farmers Market where she was a vendor for seven years before retiring. She enjoyed making maple syrup, jams and honey. She also made chocolate chip cookies, apple crisp and muffins for the Canterbury Country store for over twenty years. Marlene enjoyed traveling and went to Ft. Myers Beach, FL every winter for twenty to meet ten other couples. She was a member of the Canterbury United Community Church where she had been a deacon and was on many committees. She was also on the Spruces Board of Directors for many years and was a member and past President of the Ladies Benevolent Society. Marlene spent many years as a ckeckoff clerk at the voting polls. She was an avid animal lover and took in all strays trying to find a home for them. She was the widow of Earl Hall who died in 2006.

In Her Life: Family members include her daughter, Linda Abel and her husband Scott of Derry; a son, Richard Hall of Canterbury; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Christopher Abel; a brother, Bruce Bauerle of GA; a sister Irene Seldon of Center Harbor; and nephews, nieces and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday November 13th at 1:00 at St. Paul’s School Chapel in Concord. Urn burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Canterbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canterbury Fund, C/O Linda Burrowes, 15 Kimball Pond Road
