Martha E. Dalton

Martha E. (Sutherland) Dalton, 71, of Epsom, NH died at Elliot Hospital on Wednesday, July 27th following a brief illness. As in life, she was surrounded by her loving family.

Martha was born in Boston, MA on October 6, 1939, the daughter of the late David and Martha (Hird) Sutherland. She was a resident of Billerica, MA for more than 30 years until she moved to Epsom, NH in 1991.

Martha was a determined, loving wife and mother of five children. Her many joys in life included bargain hunting and watching the Red Sox, but her greatest loves were traveling and spending time with the family she raised.

Martha is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Dalton; son, Robert Dalton Jr. and his wife Cathy of Townsend, MA; son, Paul Dalton of Salisbury, MA; daughter, Lynda Doak of Wilton, NH; son, Scott Dalton of Chelmsford, MA; son, Erik Dalton and his wife Ann of Woburn, MA; brother, David Sutherland of Quincy, MA; sister, Elizabeth Kimball of Rockland, MA; sister, Carol Bahia of Billerica, MA; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours or services. A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd 5:00-9:00pm at the Billerica Country Club, 51 Baldwin Road in Billerica, MA.
