Mary Edith (Porter) Garceau, known to many as Edie, 86, a resident of Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, NH passed away May 20, 2020 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester after a long illness and complications of the Corona Virus.

Born in Manchester on November 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Flossie (Miller) Porter.

A beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mary's family meant everything to her. Mary cherished time spent with her extensive family and many dear friends. She looked forward to spending Christmas with family and seeing Jessica, Scott, Sophia and Ethan visiting from Georgia. She loved visits from Marc Jr, Christina, Aiden and Dresden, her grand- niece Jennifer and her husband Joe from Florida and visiting her nieces, Judy, Pat, Nancy, Carol, Sue and families at Lake Horace. Mary treasured specials friends Evey and Al who were always so dear to her. She always looked forward to her Sunday visit with Popeye and Holly. Popeye always had so many kisses for her.

A woman of countless talents, Mary enjoyed knitting crocheting, sewing, baking, and cooking. In her younger years, Mary loved yard sales and flea markets. She loved the outdoors, warm sunshine and going for walks. Mary loved her coffee and a burnt hot dogs on the grill. She enjoyed going to the beach, trips to Walmart and playing BINGO. She was a kind and humble woman with an easy-going spirit. Mary was a joy to be around.

While residing at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Mary's wish was to live the rest of her life with her dear sister-in-law, Anita Fraser. Her wish came true recently when Anita came to live at the nursing home.

She will be best remembered for her loving heart and dedication to family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her three children Roger Filteau and wife Tina, Debra (Filteau) Tessier and her husband Marc, Robert Filteau and his wife Donna, and three step-children Thomas Garceau, Michelle (Garceau) Duguay and her husband Duane and JoAnn (Garceau) Alwine and her husband Scott, her grand-children, great grand-children, her sister-in-law Anita Fraser, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Mary has many loving memories of and is survived by her granddaughter, Melanie (Filteau) Murby, her husband Dan and great granddaughter, Lauren; granddaughter, Amy (Filteau) Jarest, her husband Jay and great granddaughter, Lexi; and loving grandson, Christian Filteau; grandson, Scott Filteau, his wife Kristen, and four beautiful great grandchildren, Braeden, Landon, Mason and Alexis; granddaughter, Kelly (Filteau) Lemire and her husband Jeff; grandchildren, Dennie (Bowser) Rieger her husband Jake, Tori Bowser, Kaycey (Bowser) Raimer her husband Jesse and two beautiful great grandchildren; granddaughter, Jessica (Tessier) Sanders, her husband Scott and great grandchildren, Sophia and Ethan; grandson, Marc Tessier, his wife Christina and great grandchildren, Dresden and Aiden.

She was predeceased by her second husband, Thomas Garceau, whom she loved dearly.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Hillsborough County Nursing Home for the many years of care and support provided to Mary and the family.

ARRANGEMENTS: A private Graveside Committal Service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.
