Mary J. Murphy, a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester, NH with her loving daughter at her side on June 30, 2024. Mary's legacy of love, kindness, and selfless nature will forever be treasured by those who knew her.
Throughout her life, Mary lived all over New England, eventually settling into Manchester, NH towards the end of her life. She worked at Unifirst for over 15 years and loved the work and the many friends and colleagues along the way. Many truck drivers will remember her for always having coffee ready for them at 4 AM, showcasing her hardworking and caring nature. She found joy in the work she did and approached it with dedication every day.
Beyond her career, Mary's true passion lay in her family and friends. She was a loving and selfless individual who always put others' needs before her own. Mary cherished her family above all else and took immense delight in hosting gatherings that brought everyone together. Her warmth and affection created a welcoming environment where memories were made and laughter echoed.
In her leisure time, Mary found solace in watching game shows and listening to everything Elvis, all while basking in the festive spirit of Christmas. Her love for these simple pleasures reflected her joyful outlook on life.
Mary is survived by her beloved daughter Laurie Murphy; granddaughter Alanna Arbo; grandson Joseph Arbo; great-grandson Sam Michael Arbo; sisters Ruth Brennan and Pat Wyman; nieces Alison Burke, Emily Wyman, Pamela Adams & Ray Marie Balfour; nephew Tim Wyman as well as a dear friend Jimmy Pantazelos. She is predeceased by her husband William Murphy but leaves behind brother-in-law Edward Murphy to cherish her memory.
On July 7, 2024, friends and family will gather to pay their respects during the visitation service at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium - 243 Hanover St. in Manchester, NH from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
