Mary Margaret Murphy, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2024 at the Hospice House in Concord, New Hampshire at the age of 59.
Mary was born in Concord, NH on April 26, 1965 to her parents David Murphy Sr. and Gertrude (Violette) Murphy. Despite her lifelong health challenges that began at a young age, she radiated joy and playfulness, lighting up the lives of those around her. She graduated from Concord High School and studied at New Hampshire Technical Institute. She dedicated many years of her career to the State of New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles.
To know Mary was to know a fiercely dedicated mother, adoring grandmother, and a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her son, Andrew, was the absolute joy of her life, and her pride in being his mom was evident to all who met her. Mary embraced life with a spirit that was always ready to have fun but determined not to lose, particularly during games of Uno or while cheering on her beloved Boston Bruins. Her family and friends will treasure memories of camping at White Lake State Park, visiting York Beach, and hours spent playing cards and dominos. She was a thoughtful listener, an animal lover, and a loyal friend. Mary always made sure everyone in her life felt cherished and loved.
Mary demonstrated incredible strength, bravery, and an unwavering will to embrace life fully through her countless health battles. Her family is profoundly grateful for the laughter and love she shared, which deeply enriched their lives.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, her sister Jane (Murphy) Raymond, with whom she shared a special bond, and her partner of 20 years, Craig Maxfield. Her family takes comfort in knowing she has reunited with these loved ones, including her beloved dog, Sophie.
Mary is survived by her son, Andrew Maxfield and his wife Beretta, and granddaughter Wesson of Webster; her brothers, David Murphy Jr., Timothy Murphy and his wife Terry, William Murphy, and Doug Murphy and his wife Jody; her nephews, Jonathan Raymond, who she loved like a son, Harrison Murphy, Bradley Murphy, Ethan Case, and Michael Case; her nieces, Katherine Wade, Jessica Wade, Jordan Britt, Brooke Murphy, Emmersen Case, and Avery Case; as well as many great nieces and nephews and extended family.
