Mary Plunkett, 81, of New Boston, NH died Thursday April 17, 2014 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford.
Born on January 10, 1933 in Stoughton, MA the daughter of Ralph and Ruth (McCarthy) Grace. She was raised and educated in Stoughton.
Mary (nickname Cissy) was a resident of New Boston since 2011, moving back to be closer to family after having lived in Arizona for the previous 20 years. Prior to that she had lived in Colorado, Illinois, Texas, New Jersey, California, Florida, Maryland, and Virginia.
She had worked for 10 years when she had lived in Mass in a nursing home and as a line supervisor of electronic assembly. Her most important job was that of homemaker and mother.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mary truly loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially her grandsons.
Mary was a hiker, birder and avid traveler. She had travelled to all of the continuous 48 states.
Family members include her husband of 61 years, Thomas Plunkett of New Boston; 3 children Patricia Oakley and her husband Richard of S. Berwick, ME, Michelle Plunkett- Lupien and her husband Leon of New Boston and William Plunkett and his wife Cynthia of Ayer, MA; 2 grandsons, Daniel and Kyle Plunkett, siblings, Ruth Stark of Jacksonville, FL, Richard Grace of Wareham, MA, Barbara Pickett of Dunnellon, FL and Gus Grigas of Jacksonville, FL and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Plunkett and her siblings, Ralph Grace and Sheila Derosier.
Service will be private. Donations in Mary's memory can be made to your local hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
