Mary Silakis

Mary Silakos, 81, of 20 Brown Avenue, Manchester, died May 23, 2002, at the Elliot Hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 22, 1921, in Manchester, NH the daughter of the late Gregorios and Olemdia (Argiriou) Zissi and had been a lifelong resident of the Queen City. Mary loved crocheting. She was a member of the NH Association for the Blind and was a parishioner of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Family members include her husband of 56 years William Silakos, two sons, Paul W. Silakos and Steven G. Silakos, all of Manchester, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, George Zissi and Peter Zissi, both of Butler, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Dorothy Zissi of Manchester, NH and Sophie Wehner of Bradenton, Florida, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Friday evening from 6 to 9. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
