Maureen Sullivan Bissonnette, 82, of Manchester and Moody Beach, ME died on January 9, 2014 at home.
She was born in Detroit, MI on August 28, 1931, to Michael J. and Mary J. (O'Connor) Sullivan. She spent her early years in Portsmouth and graduated from Portsmouth High School. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing receiving her RN. She continued her education by attending St. Anselm College, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
For many years, she was Vice President and Treasurer of District 5, NH State Nurses Association. She also served on the state level of the Nurses Financial Board. She was also the Treasurer of the Manchester Chapter of the Catholic Nurses Association. Also for many years, she was Vice President and a Board of Director member of Manchester Redimix Concrete, Inc. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman E. Bissonnette who died in 2002.
She is survived by her children, Joan Bissonnette of Manchester; David and his wife Sheila and their children, Alyssa and Meredith Bissonnette of Rye; Mark and his wife Svetlan of Amherst and their children, Lisa, Kayla and Matthew.
Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Manchester on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in St. Anselm College Abbey Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
