Maurice G. Boisvert, 87, of Manchester died Saturday, December 10th following a period of declining health.
Maurice was born in Manchester April 14, 1924, the son of Desire and Meleda (Desaulniers) Boisvert. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester and was educated in area schools. He worked for the City of Manchester Highway Department and retired in 1977 after 32 years of service.
Maurice enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. He was a home-body who liked cooking comfort foods and listening to comedians; especially Redd Foxx. He was a joke teller with a great sense of humor, and he usually ended up laughing at his own jokes. Maurice particularly enjoyed listening to Big Bands and passed his love of music on to his three children. He was a hard worker and taught his children good work ethics and principles.
Maurice is survived by his wife of 61 years and lifelong partner, Imelda (Hebert); daughters Suzanne Boisvert and Dianne Roy, both of Manchester; son Daniel Boisvert and his wife Deborah, also of Manchester; grandchildren Gary Boisvert, Jody Gardner; Natalie and Nicole Roy, and Amanda LeDuke; great-grandchildren Hannah Gardner, Brandon Boisvert and Cameron Scott; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jeannette and Irene Dionne.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at both Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center and Maple Leaf Health Care Center for the exceptional care Maurice received.
No services will be held.
