Maurice A. Frechette, 75, of Manchester died March 26, 2007 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mr. Frechette was born on December 6, 1931 in Lowell, MA the son of Raoul and Emilianna (Gilbert) Frechette. He grew up in Lowell and at the age of 18, joined the US Navy. He served in Vietnam and Korea on a variety of ships and functioned in many different capacities, including a mine sweeper. He retired after serving for 20 years on permanent assignment as a chief boatswain mate. Following his military career, he joined Anheuser Busch where he worked as a foreman for ten years beginning in 1970. In 1991, Maurice graduated form Hesser College with a degree in Quality Assurance and quickly put his degree to use when he was assigned by the U S Government to Sanders Associates where he oversaw quality assurance for 72 defense contracts. Mr. Frechette was a devoted parishioner of Ste. Marie Church where he was a Eucharistic minister and member of their choir. He was also a member of the Legion Post 43 in Manchester. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. A spiritual and faithful man, Maurice was a good-natured gentleman. Family members include; two sons, Paul Frechette and his wife, Sharon of Rutland, MA and John Frechette and his wife, Mary of Merrimack; two daughters, Ann and her husband, Andrew Haber of Brookline, MA and Jane Van Heteren of the Netherlands; seven grandchildren, Claire, Olivia, Annika, Benjamin, Morgan, Kyle and Dan; one sister, Dorothy Guernon of MA; and many nieces and nephews. A son, Luc Pierre as well as three brothers, Henry, Omer and Norman, predeceased him. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 5 until 8 oclock at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 250 Coolidge Avenue in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 oclock at St. Marie Church. Burial will be at 1 oclock at St. Joseph Cemetery in E. Chelmsford, MA.
