Maurice Richard Grandmaison, 79, of 597 Montgomery Street, died August 5, 2000 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born in Manchester on February 28, 1921, the son of Elzear and Eva (Descoteaux) Grandmaison and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion, Jutras Post and the VFW. He had worked for Normand Brothers Bakery, Genest Bakery and Table Toc Pies for a total of 23 years. After that, he worked ten years for the State Armory. He was a members of the Teamsters Union for 23 years. He was a parishioner of St. Jean the Baptist Church. He was the widower of Florette (Gosselin) Grandmaison. Family members include two sons, Richard Grandmaison of Carrolton, TX and Roger Grandmaison of Bedford; two grandchildren; a sister, Rita Huot of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St. on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 in St. Jean the Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
