Maurice J. Massicotte

Maurice J. Massicotte, age 89, of Londonderry, NH, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. He was born in Lowell, MA on January 24, 1919, one of eleven children. He was the son of the late Joseph and Blanche (Pronovost) Massicotte. A resident of Londonderry for 56 years, Maurice was employed by Anchor Electric as a Tool and Die Maker. After retiring from Anchor, he worked for over 20 years in the Maintenance Dept. at Merchants Motors, leaving reluctantly at age 83. He enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales. He was an accomplished tradesman, comfortable in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electric wiring, roofing, welding and auto repair. He designed and built three houses himself, in the last of which he raised his family in Londonderry. Maurice is survived by two sons, Philip E. Massicotte of Nottingham, NH, and Dr. Stephen J. Massicotte of Indianapolis, IN; and seven siblings, Rachel Vaillancourt of N. Haverhill, NH; Alice Roy of Tewksbury, MA; Henry Massicotte of New Port Richey, FL; Louis Massicotte of Lowell, MA; Leo Massicotte of Plant City, FL; Yvonne Arpin of N. Haverhill, NH; and Doris Bourassa of Hudson, NH. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and his former wife Molly L. Massicotte of Manchester, NH. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
