Maurice "Moe" Perreault, 90, of Manchester, NH died Saturday, November 22, 2014 of natural causes.
Moe was born in Saco, ME the son of Alphonse and Ledora Perreault. He married the love of his life, Helen LaValley, in 1947.
As a member of "The Greatest Generation" he endured the Great Depression and WWII. He was a combat wounded veteran with two Purple Hearts who fought in North Africa, Sicily, France, Germany, Austria and Italy, including the Beach Invasion at Anzio. Following his discharge, he worked as a cab driver and a sign painter. For 30 years he drove for Cote Brothers Sunbeam Bread. Later he worked for CB Sullivan Co. Inc. as a driver for Mr. Sullivan and a mail room specialist. Moe was a lifelong member of the Alpine Club where he became a master pool player and club champion. He was also a member of Teamster Local 686.
Moe lost his beloved wife of 54 years in 2001, but the friends he won with his wry smile and quiet charisma always sustained him. Members of his family include his son, Bruce and his daughter, Corrine Kelly; his granddaughter, Christine Kelly; his grandson, Corey Kosowicz; and his wonderful niece, Irene Duff. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Wilfred Perreault and his sister, Cecile Fontaine.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25th 3:00-7:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place Wednesday, November 26th at 11:00am at St. Augustin Cemetery (lower cemetery) on So. Beech Street.
