Mercedes S. Pablo, 81, of 819 Elm Street, died February 22, 2006 at the Elliot Hospital. Born on April 25, 1924 in La Vega, Dominican Republic, the daughter of Juan an Angelica (Simon) Pablo, she immigrated to the United States in 1952 and had been a Manchester resident for over thirty years. She was a retired retail clerk with K-Mart, where she had worked for many years. She enjoyed listening to Spanish music, taking long walks, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and spending time in the company of children. She was a devoted mother, sister and aunt. She was a devout catholic and was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph Cathedral. Family members include her son, Paul M. Simon of Bedford; a brother, Dr. Juan O. Pablo of Bedford and 2 other brothers and a sister all of the Dominican Republic; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Sunday from 4 to 7 PM.
