Meredith was born in Norwood, Mass, the only child of Arlene and Ralph Evans. She was raised in Dedham, Mass, and graduated from Dedham High in the class of 1961, after which she studied to be a dental assistant at Boston University. Upon graduation, she worked for Dr. R.  John Feely as his assistant and office manager for over 40 years, with time off to raise her family. She married the love of her life, Bill, in 1967. They raised two children, William and Marc and she was a natural at being a mother and wife.

After marriage, they moved to Newton, Mass. where she was involved in church and community activities, anything that gave her an opportunity to meet new friends and to be involved.

After the boys graduated from college, Meredith and Bill moved to Sagamore Beach on Cape Cod. Here she again became involved in community activities, especially the local garden club where she was voted President, twice, and also the Eastern Regional Director. She also managed a bed & breakfast, was the membership Chairman of the local neighborhood club, Chairman of the town recycling committee, and Chairman of the committee to save the local grammar school. She also volunteered at the town food pantry. All of these activities gave her a chance to make new friends. She had a gift for remembering names which served her well in all of her jobs and activities.

In the last few years, she bravely fought off several health problems. She spent her last few weeks resting comfortably at home under hospice care. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side.

All of her family and many friends will miss Meredith’s friendly smile and welcoming personality.

She leaves behind Bill, her husband of 55 years, her sons Will and his wife Michelle, Marc and his wife Cassandra, and their two children, Mitchell and Eva.

Meredith's family would like to thank the wonderful team from the VNA of Manchester, and the staff from Meetinghouse for their skilled and compassionate care.
