Michael C. Collins, 41, of Manchester and Raymond died Thursday, August 4th following a courageous battle against cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born in Exeter on May 8, 1970, the son of Charles E. Jr. and Sandra (Thomson) Collins. He was raised in Raymond and spent the last several years living in the Manchester area. He was a graduate of Raymond High School, Class of â88. While in school, Michael was deeply involved in the Arts program, winning several awards for his graphite drawings. Michael worked in construction for more than 20 years and his passion and work ethic turned his roofing into an art form.
Michael enjoyed music and playing the drums; he had a great interest in science and history; and he loved getting out and enjoying the beauty of nature and landscape, often going for that âone last jumpâ on his motorcycle to take off and see the world around him. Michael had the heart of a lion and above all else, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Michael is survived by his parents; his loving companion Melanie Clement of Manchester; his grandfather, Alfred Thomson of Wolfeboro; his uncle Thomas Thomson of Danbury; his estranged wife Shannon; granddaughter Layla; several cousins; and many loving friends.
A celebration of Michaelâs life will be announced by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Michaelâs name be made to the VNA of Manchester & Southern NH at 33 South Commercial Street Suite 401 Manchester, NH 03101 or online at www.manchestervna.org
