Manchester, NH

Michael P. Conroy, 61, of Manchester, NH—originally from Lynn, Massachusetts and formerly of Hartford, Connecticut—passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Cambridge, MA on August 19, 1963, the son of the late Francis and Alice (Carberry) Conroy and grew up in Lynn, MA.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared an unbreakable bond with his wife Sheila of 46 years—they were junior high school sweethearts, soulmates, and a love story that inspired all who knew them. Together they built a life filled with family, laughter, and deep connection.

He was immensely proud of his three daughters Nichole Felix, Alexis Valverde and Marie Conroy. He found his greatest joy in being a grandfather. Michael’s beloved grandsons—Tyler Valverde (his “mini-me” as many would say), Franco Valverde, Lorenzo Feliciano, Felicity and Tommy Felix.

Michael was known for his warm spirit, quick wit, and remarkable sense of humor—always cracking jokes and making those around him laugh, even in his final days. A true people person, Michael made friends wherever he went. He was kind, generous, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

He worked for many years as a skilled drywall finisher and taper, taking pride in his craft. In his younger years, he lived in Connecticut and rode with the motorcycle club Drifters, a time of his life filled with freedom and brotherhood. His Harley was one of his great joys, and he loved nothing more than a ride on the open road, with the wind at his back and the sun on his face.

Michael was predeceased by many cherished family members and leaves behind a large extended family and many lifelong friends, especially in Lynn, MA where he was raised. He is survived by his beloved brother, Arthur Conroy; his two cherished sisters, Lisa Furtado, and Shirley Knibbs with whom he loved spending time with; his brothers in law Orville Knibbs and Peter Furtado; Whether it was sharing stories, laughing together, or simply enjoying each other’s company, the bond they shared was one of his greatest treasures. His cousin Jose Diaz, who lovingly sat by his side and cared for him in his final year. His best friend Blake, whom he held dear to his heart. And his beloved dog Harley, his loyal companion.

Michael’s presence lit up every room. His legacy will live on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the love he shared with his wife, and the stories and memories told by those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held privately with immediate family. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. For more information or to view an online memorial, go to www.phaneuf.net.
