Michael John Diamantopoulos, 71, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester surrounded by his beloved wife and two children.
Mike was born on August 20, 1949, in Manchester and was the son of the late John and Ginette (Bue) Diamantopoulos, the third of eight children. He graduated from Manchester Central High School, then served 4 years in the Air Force before returning to his hometown in New Hampshire where he met and married his beautiful wife Lorraine "Lola". They settled in Manchester where they raised their two children.
Mike enjoyed fishing, watching his favorite football teams; the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and New England Patriots and listening to Elvis and country music. For many years he loved playing in a softball and bowling league with a wonderful group of friends and family.
Nothing was more important to Mike than family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the life of every family event, singing his favorite Elvis song "Return To Sender" at weddings and other special occasions.
His greatest joy was spending time with his beautiful granddaughters Emma and Ally. He loved taking them to play miniature golf or bowling, always followed by ice cream. He taught his granddaughters how to fish, play cards and checkers. Emma and Ally's "Papou" could always be found in the front row of all their music, dance, and sporting events.
Lastly, thanks to his many friends, family members and neighbors, whose assistance and companionship over the last two months was a blessing.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine of 48 years and their two children, Michael Diamantoplos and Lisa and her husband, Kristian Desrochers; two gr
and daughters, Emma and Ally; four sisters Michelle and her husband Ted Fortuna, Elaine Demetrakopoulos, Marianne Carreau, and Catherine and her husband, Rick Sullivan; two brothers, John Diamantoplos and his wife, Anita and Bill Diamantoplos and many nieces and nephews.
