Michael James Huard, 58, of Manchester, passed away on February 5th, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. 

Michael was born in Manchester on March 5th, 1965. He is the son of the late Roger R. and Lucille R. Huard. He moved to Litchfield and spent his childhood riding dirt bikes and getting into trouble on the farm. He was known as "Huey or "The French Kid".

Michael moved to Manchester with his wife, Pennie L. Huard, in 1988 where they purchased their first home. They married six months later on October 1st, 1988 and have shared over 35 years of marriage. 

Michael attended Alvirne High School, graduating in 1983, in addition to continued education at New Hampshire Vocational Technical Institute. Michael had a passion and made a career working as a machinist. He worked at Harvey Building Products for 34 years, also worked in maintenance and was known to be the one who could always fix it. He grew up outdoors and was a firearm enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, motorcycles, and fixing things to keep them in pristine condition. He was a member of Pointers Fish and Game Club and loved poking fun at the family when Tom Brady and the New England Patriots would occasionally lose. 

Michael is survived by his wife of 35 years Pennie Huard; his son Ryan Huard; sister Karen Lavigne and her husband Michael; brother Steve Huard and his wife Ly-Ly; brother Scott Huard and his wife Karen; father-in-law John Wardner; sister-in-law Terrie Lecour and her husband Steve; sister-in-law Pattie Barker and her husband Charlie; sister-in-law Kellie Dumais and her husband Rich; sister-in-law Lorrie Ellis and her husband Chuck; brother-in-law Steven Wardner and his wife Kristin; his brother-of-choice Michael Carle and his wife Holly; Memere-of-choice Claire Paquin; god daughters, Jessica Carle and McKenzie Carle; nieces and nephews: Gage Huard, Shawn Lavigne, Wyatt Huard, Jason Kostyk, Megan Wardner, Nicole Lecour, Kyle Lecour, Adam Ellis, Nick Wardner, and Dylan Wardner; aunt Sylvia Ouellette and her husband Gil; aunt Elaine Brassard and her husband Jean; and many other extended family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, February 10th from 9-11am at The Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A funeral service will follow at 11am in the funeral home. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
