Michael Kevin Johnson
Michael Kevin Johnson, 63, of Brattleboro, VT passed away on October 26th after a period of declining health at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 1, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY to the late William and Ann (Chase) Johnson.
Once graduating high school, he went on to honorably serve in the United States Army. He later spent his career as a janitor at Vermont Yankee.
Michael was a man of faith and was both a parishioner and volunteer for the soup kitchen at St. Michael's Church. He also loved to participate in the National Buddy Walk, a society which celebrates awareness for down syndrome, which he walked in honor of his niece Leanne.
He leaves behind his brothers Andrew Johnson and his wife Lori of Greenfield, NH, and Robert Johnson of NH; sisters Linda Foley and her husband Richard of Warwick, NY, Cherylann Cimato and her husband Michael of Orlando, FL, and Jillian Phillips of Albany, GA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The National Down Syndrome Society at 8 East 41 Street, 8th Floor New York, NY 10017.
