MICHAEL CORNELL MACPHAIL
BOULDER, CO --Michael Cornell MacPhail, age 53, died on August 25.
Michael was born on January 25, 1955, a son to Philip and Frederica (Cornell) MacPhail, in Glencove, NY.
He was an avid bicyclist; he was passionate about helping animals; he loved classic blues music and loved to read, especially the Russian novelists. Michael spent much of his free time working at the Boulder County Humane Society, at Community Table preparing and serving meals to the homeless and as a sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous where he achieved several years of sobriety. He cared deeply about his family and friends and about helping those who suffered from substance abuse. He was a long-time resident of Boulder, having moved here in 1963.
He was predeceased by his parents, Philip R and Frederica C MacPhail and is survived by two sisters, Melinda (Dinny) Richmond of Franconia, NH, and Marty MacPhail of Grass Valley, CA, and a niece, Megan Matthers of Reno, NV.
SERVICES -- A memorial service will be held at 1:30 on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at St Andrews Church on Baseline Rd, Boulder, CO, to be followed by a celebration of his life.
