Michael Arthur Ploss

September 11, 1951 — April 21, 2023

Manchester, NH

Michael Arthur Ploss, 71, died Friday, April 21, 2023, at home in Manchester, NH with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 11, 1951, in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Robert Arthur and Elizabeth Mae (Stebbins) Ploss.

Michael was raised in Manchester with his three siblings, whom he was incredibly close to. He attended Manchester schools and had been a lifelong resident of the city. Michael worked for many years with his best friend, Donald “Don” Walton at Drywall Construction Systems. He was a foreman who specialized in drywall, framing, and taping.

Michael was known for his love of hunting and freshwater fishing, which were passions that he pursued with enthusiasm and skill throughout his life. He had a special talent for finding the best hunting and fishing spots, which he referred to as his "honey holes.” In particular, he enjoyed fishing at Mt. William Pond in Weare, NH and on the Piscataquog River in Goffstown Center, NH. Michael would most often catch and release fish but enjoyed cooking meals from his and his friends’ hunts, especially deer and pheasant. Michael loved spending time in nature, whether he was sitting in a deer stand waiting for his buck or casting a line into a quiet lake. His love of the outdoors was infectious, and he inspired many others to take up hunting and fishing as well.

Despite his toughness and rugged exterior, Michael was a deeply loving and kind-hearted man. He was always there for his family and friends, offering a listening ear and a helping hand whenever they needed it. Michael was a man of strong will and conviction, guided by his own moral code. He never wavered in his beliefs and always stood up for what he thought was right. This strength of character was evident in all aspects of his life, from his work ethic to his relationships with loved ones. Michael was a man of his word, and his unwavering commitment to his principles earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his “baby mama,” Brenda Paradis; his daughters, Alexis Ploss and Briana Gancarz; his niece and caretaker, Jaime Tremblay who was always by his side; his other half, his brother, Bobby Ploss and his wife, Karen; his sisters, Linda Sutherland and her husband, Bill and Maryanne Paraskevas and her husband, Billy; his nieces and nephews, Jamie, Angie, Jonathan, Sheena, Alex, Ariel, Tylor and Dominic; his close friends, Ricky Mailhot and Alan Remillard; and many other loving family and friends whom he cherished dearly.

Michael will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, passion, protection, and love for the great outdoors. Rest in peace, Michael, and may you find eternal peace in heaven’s honey holes.
