Mihai "Mike" C. Filitis, 70, of Manchester, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at home.
Born in Bran, Romania, he is the son of the late Cristodor Filitis and Rozalia (née Serbanuca). Raised and educated in Romania, Mike earned the equivalent of a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest. A practicing architect in Romania, Mike and his wife, Maria, immigrated to the United States in 1985. He continued working as an architect in Chicago, IL, then Cambridge, MA, and since 1988 at Dennis B. Mires, P.A. in Manchester, NH.
A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Mike worked diligently to provide for his family. A true Renaissance man and jack-of-all-trades, Mike had an innovative spirit. He loved understanding how things worked and discussing all things mechanical. Mike will be best remembered for his unwavering principles, his humor, his passion for architecture, and most of all for his love of family.
Mike is survived by his wife, Maria (née Dogaru), with whom he shared 42 years of marriage; two sons, Dan Filitis and wife Jen of Hallowell, ME, and Michael Filitis of Manchester; two grandchildren, Madeleine and Isabel; brother, Stefan Filitis of Montreal; sister, Erika Filitis of NY; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Friday, July 6 from 3:00 to 5:00P.M. followed by his Funeral Service at 5:00P.M.
