Muriel S.
Burditt
November 8, 1936 – May 25, 2026
Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium
3:00 - 5:00 pm (Eastern time)
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate Muriel’s life, a devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who passed peacefully at the age of 89 at Courville’s Assisted Living in Manchester, NH. Her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and boundless love for her family and all those in her life reflected her deep walk with Christ. She was surrounded in love with family members in her final days. She was born to the Reverend Herman Spinney and Sara (Longley) Spinney in Providence, RI.
Muriel is survived by her son, Jeffrey (April) Burditt of Nottingham, NH, Stepsons Bernie (Lynn) Burditt of Salem, NH, Tony (Kathy) Burditt of Laconia, NH, Leon (Maureen) Burditt of Dunbarton, NH. She is also survived by grandchildren (Toni Lee, Matthew, Erica, Christina, Jim, Brian, Steven, Sherry, Tonya, Charles, James, Sarah, Nathan, Kelsey and Kyle) and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Muriel was predeceased in death by her husband, Charles Burditt, parents, six siblings (Elizabeth, Douglas, Jeannette, Phyllis, Herman, and Willard). Her stepchildren (Judy Stone, Linda Ainsworth, and Richard Burditt) and granddaughter Tina Marie Ainsworth.
Muriel grew-up as part of a large, loving family and after graduating high school she attended Moody Bible Institute. She pursued a career in banking, working in several local banks. Muriel was always an active member in the ministries of her local church in many positions including music and education. She married Charles Burditt, a widower, on October 14, 1966 and took on the challenge of an instant family. Charles never liked the winters in NH so in 1998 they packed up and moved to Holiday Florida where they built a happy, fulfilling retirement. First Baptist Church of New Port Richie became their center of worship and service, and they built many wonderful relationships. After Charlie passed in 2007, Muriel kept busy with many different volunteer opportunities at church and helping neighbors in her community. She moved back to be close to family in 2024.
A celebration of Muriel’s life will take place on Saturday, June 6th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Muriel’s memory can be made out to the End Alzheimer’s Association (link below).
