Muriel J. (Brissette) Kowalczyk, passed away on September 20, 2018 at the Concord VNA Hospice House, peacefully meeting God with her family by her side.
Born on May 13, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Rene and Isola Brissette of New Bedford, MA. Raised and educated in New Bedford, Muriel graduated from St. Anthony High School. On June 11, 1966, she married the love of her life, Richard Kowalczyk, at St. Anthony Church. The young couple honeymooned in New Hampshire, promising they would return to the state one day to raise their family. In 1975, their promise became a reality, settling in Whitefield. Later, the family relocated to Manchester before making Deerfield their home for the past 27 years.
Muriel owned and operated several businesses through the years but spent her last years at Sanel Auto Parts in Accounts Receivable until her retirement.
Muriel was an avid fan of her Boston Red Sox, loved the Patriots, and followed Nascar. She loved cruising around Lake Winnisquam and Lake Winnipesaukee and relishing the scenery of the Kancamagus Highway. In her spare time, she loved cooking and crafting, especially painting. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Muriel is survived by her husband, Richard of Deerfield, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; two daughters, Christine Kowalczyk of Allenstown and Kathy Torres of Manchester; two granddaughters, Kailene Torres of Manchester and Aleanna Clermont of Deerfield; and the most wonderful great grandson, Jaiden.
