Murvel A. (Hume) Tompkins, 92, of Manchester, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center, in Manchester, where she resided for the past 7 years.
She was born on July 26, 1926, in Castle Hill, ME, the daughter of the late John and Alice (Hartley) Hume. Mrs. Tompkins graduated from Hesser College,at age 57, an accomplishment she was very proud of, with an Associate's Degree in Accounting.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Tompkins was employed at Great American Plastics for 16 years, at NH Supply Co. for 18 years, and various accounting agencies. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, spending many hours at Arthur Murray Dance Studio practicing and competing.
Members of her family include; her two sons, Kurt F. Tompkins and his wife Susan, of Auburn, NH; Rhett H. Tompkins and his wife Jodi of Hickory, NC; four grandchildren, Alison Eisenhart, of Port Angeles, WA; Jennifer Waranowski and her husband, John, of Weare, NH; David Tompkins, of Brooklyn, NY; Jonathan Tompkins, of Los Angeles, CA; nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be private.
It has been suggested that memorial donations may be made to Hanover Hill Health Care Center, Resident's Activities Department, 700 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104, in memory of Mrs. Tompkins.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hanover Hill Health Care Center for the care and compassion they provided to Murvel over the past 7 years.
