Myrtle L. Reid, 91, of Boscawen, formerly of Stoughton, MA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 14, 2018 following a period of declining health.

Myrtle was born in Hartford, CT on February 9, 1927 to Herbert Ellsworth Cushman Hathaway and Eliza May (Whiteway) Hathaway. She graduated from Medford High School, Medford, MA and married William H. Reid on May 22, 1948.

Myrtle was a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker who went to great lengths to help each one of us when we needed it most. She had a special place in her heart for children and babies. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, gardening, flowers, and bird watching.

Myrtle is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, William H. Reid; daughters Linda Shepard and Cheryl Cates; and sons Donald, Charles and Mark Reid. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Myrtle was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Meek of Rhode Island and her parents, Herbert Hathaway and May Elliot.

Psalm 116: 15 Precious in the sight of the Lord
     is the death of his faithful servants.

Family and friends are invited to attend a cemetery committal service being held Wednesday, September 19th at 11:30am in the chapel of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
