Nanci Sedgwick, 59, of Raymond, NH died July 24, 2011 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover following a courageous battle with colon cancer.
She was born on July 28, 1951 in Laurel, MS the daughter of Col. Harold Carter, retired USAF and Jeanne Bruess Carter. She graduated from Fort Hunt High School in Alexandria, VA. She lived in Auburn, NH for 17 years and was a resident of Raymond for the past eight years. She spent many years in the Hopkinton area while growing up.
Nanci worked as a cashier at Market Basket in Stratham.
She was an avid fan of crossword puzzles, loved playing Arkanoid on Nintendo, riding horses, yard sales and walking her dogs. She truly was a people person and those that knew her remember her fondly.
She is survived by her two daughters, Phoenix Mayet of Jamaica Plain, MA and Tristan Sedgwick of Manchester, NH and her companion of 16 years, Scott Smith of Raymond, NH.
Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Thursday from 10:00AM to 12:00PM with her service to follow in the funeral home at Noon.
