NATHALIE (SYPHERS) CHASE
AUBURNDALE, FL Nathalie (Syphers) Chase, 80, formerly of Greenland, NH, passed away on April 24, 2005 at the Auburndale Oaks Health Center, Auburndale, FL.
Nathalie was born in Portsmouth, NH on December 12, 1924, the daughter of Harold A. and Constance (Brackett) Syphers. She grew up in Greenland, attending local schools and graduated from Portsmouth High School, Class of 1942.
On October 1, 1944, Nathalie married Paul K. Chase and they were together 54 years until his death on February 6, 1999. She was employed in the banking industry at both the Indian Head Banks of Exeter and Portsmouth until her retirement. She moved to Sarasota, FL where she again entered banking until her return to Thornton, NH in 1992. Most recently she had been residing in Auburndale, FL. Nathalie served the Town of Greenland for many years in the capacity of Town Treasurer and was a member of the Greenland Historical Society, enjoying the great history of her community and the socialization with its members. She was a dedicated housewife and mother, in her early married years she was active with her children in sports, scouting and school related activities. Her most important and first love was her family. She was a loving wife of 54 years and a mother to her four children with an uncanny ability for rearing children with discipline and love and a tremendous love for her extended family and friends.
Surviving family members include three sons, Paul K. Chase, Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Barefoot Bay, FL, John R. Chase and his wife, Brenda, of Auburndale, FL, Wayne H. Chase and his wife, Karen, of Auburndale, FL; one daughter, Sharon M. (Chase) Littlefield and her husband, Raymond, of Portsmouth, NH; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES Nathalie will be laid to rest in the Greenland Cemetery, following a graveside service at a later date to be determined by the family.
