Neil O'Brien of Littleton, NH, passed away at the University of Vermont Medical Center (formerly Fletcher Allen Hospital) in Burlington, Vermont on January 20, 2016 with his wife, son and grandsons by his side.

Neil was born 13 March, 1940 in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia and was the son of Eric Neil O'Brien and Marjorie Mary O'Brien.

In his adult life in Australia, Neil studied dentistry, worked for a pharmaceutical company, owned a cattle property and owned and operated a charter boat business on the Great Barrier Reef out of Gladstone, Queensland. While residing in the United States from 1991 to 2016, Neil lived in Trumbull, CT and Franconia, NH. He owned and operated a small Bed and Breakfast in Franconia before residing in Littleton, NH.

Neil is survived by his wife, Marlene, a brother Ronald O'Brien and wife Kay of Queensland; a son Philip O'Brien and wife Joan and step-grandson, Jonathon; a son Andrew O'Brien of Queensland; a son Brendan O'Brien and wife Jennifer and 3 grandsons, Jack, Colin and Riley of Southbury, Connecticut.

SERVICES – A Celebration of Neil's Life will be held at the Pillsbury Phaneuf Funeral Home, located at 101 Union Street in Littleton, on Saturday, February 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
