Nicholas Gianitsis

Nicholas Gianitsis, 59, of 42 Bowery Street, Nashua, died March 12, 2005 at Southern New Hampshire Regional Hospital. He was born in Manchester on September 21, 1945, the son of John A. and Pauline (Theos) Gianitsis. He was a cook for many years and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved to play bingo. Family members include three sons, Scott Gianitsis of Wakefield, MA, Daniel Gianitsis of Saugus, MA and Jason Gianitsis of Nashua; a daughter, Donna DiFranco of Goffstown; five grandchildren; his former wife, Elaine FitzPatrick of Nashua; four brothers, Andrew Gianitsis of CA, John Gianitsis of Manchester, James Gianitsis of Bow and Anthony Gianitsis of Manchester; four sisters, Kathryn Melvin of Exeter; Sophie Roussas of FL, Debbie Sverkos of Manchester and Mary Ann Barous of Concord; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. In His Life: He enjoyed the time he spent with his five grandchildren, Tiffany DiFranco of Goffstown, Daija Gianitsis, Kaiden Gianitsis and Mariah Little, all of Nashua and Tyler Gianitsis of Derry. He was also very close to his future daughter in law, Sonia Pacheco whom he thought the world of. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 3 to 7 PM. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 7:00 PM. After cremation, a graveside committal service will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local hospice organization.
